INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT COUNSELING AND OUTPATIENT COUNSELING
Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Services provide treatment for individuals who do not
need the structure and support of a residential level to begin or continue their recovery.
Individuals in these levels are able to live at home, work, and meet other daily living
responsibilities while participating in treatment.
- What to Expect:
- The length of stay is based on an individual's needs. The average is 9 weeks in Intensive Outpatient, and 9 weeks in Outpatient
- Individuals in Intensive Outpatient attend group and individual treatment sessions 3 or 4 days or evenings a week for 2 or 3 hours
- Individuals in Outpatient attend 1 or 2 days or evenings a week for 1 or 2 hours
- Individuals are also expected to attend self help/recovery support meetings and appointments with other service providers as needed
- Family involvement is requested
- Random alcohol and other drug tests are requested throughout treatment
- Individuals are expected to demonstrate financial self-support and responsibility
- Parking is available on the premises
- Public bus service is available during daytime hours
- Individuals completing Intensive Outpatient are referred to Outpatient for continued care
- Individuals completing Outpatient are discharged from treatment and referred to a recovery support group
- Smoking is restricted to designated areas and not allowed during treatment activities
